If you use Internet Explorer as your main browser, you have probably been having troubles logging in since the upgrade. Don't worry! I'm trying to find a way to fix this, but it may take some time.

In the meantime, I suggest you use another browser to get on HB: I recommend Mozilla Firefox. It's free to download and takes up very little space on the computer... and it's actually my preferred browser anyway, personally.

In the meantime, I'm making the cbox available for people who are not logged in, so that those of you having troubles can still chat with us there. Be patient with me! I'm working on it!

EDIT: POTENTIAL FIX

This fix is untested right now, but may work for several of you. The problem appears to be something in duplicating your session cookie. If you're experiencing the problem with not being able to log in, try deleting your cookies, closing the window, and logging in again.

As most of you know by now, I've been running upgrades for some time on a test site. After two successful runs, I decided it was time to do them here on HB. They were successful, and all is well... except for that darn weird thing with the layout! For the life of me I cannot imagine why it decided stretching to fit the page was better than being the size I told it to be, but I do know it's there. For now, just ignore it and let it be. I'll fix it soon. :)


Since I'm sure most of you missed the last news update, please go back and read it. Very important things in there - the starting of the war, for one, and welcoming Phantom as our newest staff member, for another! (Another congrats to Phantom!)

So you've waited. And waited. And waited. And finally, with a new summer comes a new try at the war! You've all seen by now the appearance of the new forum to be used for battle planning. Please post all of your plot ideas there. You can all start your smaller, personal battles any time you want; the large-scale, organized battles will be starting very very soon! (On that note, if you have horses who'd like to participate in the war and you have not signed up for either a light battle party or a dark battle party, do so IMMEDIATELY. Battle parties will be formed and finalized within the next few days!)

I'd very much like to get this war over with in 2 or 3 weeks, so I need everyone's help and participation to get it moving quickly. I hope everyone's as excited as I am!


Special Announcement: New Staff Member!

All that being said, I have a very special announcement: Phantom will be joining us on staff, starting this week! Phantom has developed a great reputation on the site not only for being an excellent and knowledegable roleplayer, but for being a huge help to other users as well. She has participated with the rest of the staff and I in a few planning sessions and been of great help, and we're all happy now to at long last promote her to an official staff member. Everyone give her a round of applause; she deserves it!

Today marks the end of the eclipse; I hope you guys got all your rp'ing done! After today, spirits won't be allowed to post any more.

As I'm sure you've figured out already, the war is more or less on hold, since neither myself nor any of the other major players in the war feel like roleplaying at the moment. x3 Maybe we'll pick it up again sometime later...

The eclipse isn't due to start until tomorrow, but because I probably won't be on too much tomorrow, you may go ahead and start tonight. The eclipse means that for the next week, you may all bring back your dead characters and do whatever you please with them... just remember, all plots need to be wrapped up entirely by the 16th, when the spirits go bye-bye.

Ground rules:

1. Do not post spirits outside of the clearing.

2. No supernatural powers can be given to living horses, sorry. :(

3. A spirit cannot kill a living horse.

4. A spirit's power is not unlimited. Those who have been dead longer, or who had stronger personalities in life (either extremely ruthless or a strong leader) will be stronger in death. However, all are answerable to Kulassin and Aristonia (Lord and Lady of the underworld) or Malik (son of Kulassin and Aristonia).
